Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my class is cancelled?
Unfortunately, sometimes classes have to be cancelled due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. We will let you know as soon as possible and you will not be charged for this class. All efforts will be made to rebook the class.
Are there any conditions you do not treat?
I do not specialise in the treatment of children under 16 years in my physiotherapy practice. However, if you are in your teenage years and would like to discuss whether clinical pilates would be suitable please do give me a call. I am also unable to treat men from my own home. If you are not sure whether ND Clinical Pilates is the right place for you please do give me a call so I can point you in the right direction if I am unable to help.
How many times a week do I need to come for treatment?
You are likely to only need to come once per week with reducing frequency as you improve. My ultimate goal is to give you the skills to treat and maintain your body. It’s all about education, and helping you live your life in the best way you can. In many cases, I will give you some bespoke exercises that you should do at home to gain the quickest recovery.
What happens if i miss a class?
Please give 24 hours’ notice (by email, text message or phone call) if you wish to cancel an appointment or a late cancellation fee of 50% will be charged. If you do not attend your appointment the full fee will be charged.
What shall I wear?
During the sessions there will be physical movement, so please wear clothes that allow you to move (yoga pants or Trackies) the same kind of clothes you would wear to the gym. One request is that you complete your classes in socks as opposed to shoes (even dedicated gym footwear). The reason for this is to support cleanliness and hygiene in the studio.
What is Clinical Pilates?
A variation of Traditional Pilates, continually shaped and advanced by current best practice guidelines. It is designed for people experiencing health issues, pain and for rehabilitation following injury or surgery.
